The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan is a member-driven organization. We work together with our partners to provide valuable and actionable information, business and social contacts and exposure to the Canadian community in Japan and Japanese businesses interested in Canada.

New and Useful Business Contacts

Our members come from a over 35 business sectors and come from dozens of different countries. But they all have one thing in common; a keen interest in Canada-Japan commercial and trade relationship. With many regular and well-attended social and business networking events you can make new connections, gather insight and share experiences with a wide range of professionals.

Exposure and Promotion

Through your listing in the CCCJ’s print and online membership directory, via social media, our magazine and website, you’ll be able to promote your company, products and services to our membership and beyond. Members are also referred first when enquiries are received for products and services by the Chamber and Chamber members.

Knowledge

Practical, informative and topical seminars and guest speaker events will help you maximize your knowledge and augment your potential in the Japanese market. Our regular communications program includes our CJU Update Service, a quarterly publication (The Canadian), e-bulletins, website, social media and an annual membership directory.

An Opportunity to Participate

Participation on one of the CCCJ’s committees is an excellent way to support the development of the Chamber, to meet new people and develop new skills. The CCCJ encourages its members to be involved with the Chamber and have hands-on involvement in the development of the Chamber and work for the benefit of our members.

Tailored Content and Events

The CCCJ works with our partners to develop tailored content (available in print and online) that highlights companies, sectors and expertise. We also partner with Chamber members to develop events to increase their visibility while providing valuable information to other Chamber members and the general public.

03 / Categories and fees

Sustaining Member

¥600,000

Membership offers all the benefits of a corporate membership. Other benefits include corporate recognition on professional sign boards at CCCJ events and event notices; ten complimentary reservations to select breakfast, luncheon or networking events*; priority seating at head tables; complimentary advertising and logo placement on the CCCJ website; and increased corporate presence in the membership directory and premium online profile page.

25 members can be registered in the directory system.

Corporate Member

¥210,000

Membership offers a full range of benefits, including invitations to corporate member-only events, inclusion of corporate logo and website in the membership directory and a full feature online profile page. Corporate members are also entitled to a listing in our service directory online.

10 members can be registered in the directory system.

Small Business Member

¥70,000

Membership is for small companies (10 or fewer employees) and nonprofit organizations, or professional individuals who are not senior management but would like to be listed under their company name. Since this category entails listing of the member’s title, company name and contact information in the membership directory, it is an effective way for small companies to promote their name, product or service.

2 members can be registered in the directory system.

Individual Member

¥40,000

Membership allows members to participate in most Chamber events, receive the full complement of Chamber publications, and make use of the many Chamber resources. Members also receive and entry in the online print directory and a limited profile page online.

Direct reference to the member’s company is not allowed in the print membership directory.

Young Professional

¥5,000

A special rate for young professionals up to age 35, unless approved by the Board of Governors for special cases. Young professional members are encouraged to join committees and volunteer at Chamber events. Special discounts for upgrading to other membership categories.

No voting rights and cannot be a governor or committee chair.

*Complimentary reservations can not be used for the Annual CCCJ Golf Tournament, the Maple Leaf Ball, the Annual Joint Chamber Bonenkai or Summer cocktail due to limited space.

04 / Outside Kanto

The same memberships, for members based outside Tokyo

The primary representative of the business or individual, as applicable, is living and working predominantly outside of Tokyo and its surrounding areas.

Non-Resident Non-Kanto Sustaining Member

¥400,000

Membership offers all the benefits of a corporate membership and unlimited corporate representatives, with the same recognition, complimentary reservations* and directory presence as Sustaining membership.

25 members can be registered in the directory system.

Non-Resident Non-Kanto Corporate Member

¥100,000

Membership offers the same benefits as Corporate membership. Of specific interest will be our publications, which will keep you up to date on events in Japan and provide a convenient window into the Canada-Japan business relationship.

10 members can be registered in the directory system.

Non-Resident Non-Kanto Small Business Member

¥30,000

Membership offers the same benefits as Small Business membership, and an excellent opportunity to promote your company name, product or service to Japanese and Canadians on both sides of the Pacific.

2 members can be registered in the directory system.

Non-Resident Non-Kanto Individual Member

¥15,000

Membership offers the same benefits as Individual membership, and provides a convenient way to stay up to date on developments in the Canada-Japan business relationship.

05 / How to join

Application, invoice, and a vote of the Board

Their own procedure. An application that is not approved has its fee returned in full.

Apply by downloading the application form (PDF) and sending it to the CCCJ office by mail, or by submitting the online form.
Upon receipt of an application, the chamber sends an invoice.
Once the fee payment is confirmed, the application is presented for approval at the monthly Board of Governors meeting, after which the membership becomes official.
In the case an application is not approved, the membership fee is returned in full.

The chamber asks that questions about categories and fees go to the office.
